Mindful Way To Craft. The Story Of Déco Minimal

For over 10 years, I have been crafting custom seat cushions, linen pillow covers and home textiles for my clients. Each piece was made to order and carefully tailored to their unique needs. One of the things I have always loved about custom work is that no final products ever went to waste. Unlike mass production, where surplus often becomes landfill, I could create exactly what was needed. Every fabric had a purpose. That was my mindful way to craft.

Still, custom work inevitably creates leftovers. Beautiful, high-quality offcuts that were too small for another large piece but far too precious to discard. These remnants, many from respected European fabric mills, slowly accumulated in my studio. And even though the waste was already minimal, I could not shake the feeling that these fabrics deserved a second life.

That belief is what inspired me to start Déco Minimal. It is a place where I can offer these upholstery and other fabric remnants and offcuts to other makers who value quality and sustainability. Along the way, I have also had the opportunity to source a small selection of deadstock fabrics from European manufacturers. Some of these were experimental designs, test batches or patterns that never reached full production. They are rare finds, and I am excited to make them available while they last.
Although remnants and the occasional deadstock pieces remain the heart of the shop, you will also find a small selection of fabrics by the meter and craft supplies. Everything I offer reflects the same intention: to provide thoughtful materials that support creative, responsible and sustainable making.
I know there are many crafters who feel the same way I do. People who love to create but also care deeply about reducing waste and making conscious choices. People who believe that creativity and sustainability can work together beautifully. Choosing remnants or deadstock is a simple yet meaningful way to craft with intention. Conscious decor begins with conscious materials, and every piece offers the chance to create something beautiful while honouring the resources behind it.
Whether it is an unexpected colour combination or a pattern that never became part of a final collection, each remnant and each deadstock fabric carries a sense of individuality that mass produced textiles cannot offer. These materials invite creativity, resourcefulness and a more sustainable approach to making.
Welcome to Déco Minimal! I hope you enjoy discovering new ideas for your fabulous crafts!
